New Enterprise Class JetStor SAS 724S RAID System
Pittsburgh, PA, March 10, 2011. Accommodating ever-growing storage requirements within a confined space is challenging IT management. AC&NC’s new JetStor SAS 724S RAID system eliminates this challenge by fitting 24 SAS2 or SATA 3 drives, totaling up to 14.4 TB of storage in only 2U of rack space. With up to three expansion cabinets, the maximum capacity is 57.6 TB in only 8U. Energy savings from 2.5” drives requiring less than one-half the power of 3.5” drives and a cool-running, low heat output design achieve green initiatiives.
The JetStor SAS 724S offers much more than high-density storage. With support for most RAID levels, redundant hot-swappable drives, controllers, power supplies, fans and power cords, hot-spares, automatic failover and multipath support, the system provides high-availability, a short mean-time-to-repair (MTTR) and two dimensional parity data protection to tolerate simultaneous drive failures.
The performance of the JetStor SAS 724S is surprising given its small size. Starting with 6GB SAS and SATA disk interfaces, through 800 MHz embedded-storage processors and 1 to 4 GB of DDR2-800MHz ECC SCRAM cache, to two, 6GBs SAS host interfaces, the system stores and retrieves data in stride with any application.
Yet any system’s lifetime performance is dependent on the manufacturer’s reputation for support.
